What an incredible find! This unicorn Belgian tavern is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and full of character, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The menu is truly special, featuring unique dishes that you won’t find anywhere else—especially the green fries! They were crispy, flavorful, and a delightful twist on a classic favorite. Every dish we tried was expertly prepared, showcasing rich flavors and high-quality ingredients. The service was also top-notch—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about both the food and drink selections. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a must-visit for an authentic and unforgettable dining experience. Can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic Sunday brunch with friends and family. We were a jovial group of 12 arriving at 10am… The Unicorn team accommodated us nicely and swiftly. Amazing servers, the food and drinks-including Irish specials were delicious, fresh and beautifully plated. They were super flexible with the billing. Thank you!!! Highly recommended!! We will definitely be back!!

If I can give this place 10 stars, I would! Recently moved to West Michigan and excited to try new places. This one hits the sweet spot. Came here with the same group of friends three days in a row, and had the same waiter all three times; attentive and friendly service each time! Mushroom poutine, fried pickles, asparagus, and croquets were excellent and enjoyed by everyone. Only critique to be had are the fries are a little too salty for our taste, but salt is subjective. First day I had their take on chicken and waffles. This dish might be one of my top 3 favorite chicken dishes. I love the concept of a sweet and savory chicken and waffle dish. Loved the mix of slaw, pickles and super crispy hot honey chicken. 2nd day - Smoked Prime Rib. Only regret here was I wish I could’ve gotten the 16 oz but we got the last 2 for the night. 3rd day was brunch - burgers served with a pretzel bun and sweet onion strings is always appealing to me. Special mentions to the beef stroganoff, mussels, and 2 of the burgers which names I couldn’t remember. Everything was great. Things we appreciate about this restaurant are some items offer a smaller portion, and some sides aren’t forced into your meal. Prices are more than fair, too! We were greeted by the chef one evening, and for brunch we’re greeted by, what I believe, is the owner! We’re excited to try the rest of the menu!

This place is great! I’m not a Michigan local but if I was I would be here often. The tater tot’s and poutine were fantastic appetizers and I had the Mac n Cheese with chicken as an entree. The Mac n cheese isn’t a classic American style so expect more of a garlic and lemon cheese sauce if you get it.

TLDR: I genuinely thought I’d left a review here in the past, but I guess not! This place is one of my favorites in Grand Haven for both brunch and dinner (I’ve not been here for lunch but I’m sure it’s fine ). The atmosphere is lovely, the staff is great, and vibes are chill and accepting of everyone, and the food is good! I got a coffee (endless refills) even though it was dinner time- I was a tired squirrel!! and it was great, and our server was always just around the corner to give me a warm up . A friend of mine got the Belgian Onion Soup (You know it's cousin, French onion. Trappist ale broth, Chimay Havarti au gratin & French bread 'crouton' make this 'merveilleuse'.) she really enjoyed it. Perfect for a fall day, which is when we visited. I got the Flemish Mac & Cheese (Sea shells pasta, leeks, Chimay cheese, bechamel, Belgian Forest bacon & trappist cheese sauce) which I get whenever I get my braces adjusted (because my teeth hurt) but honestly the flavor of the dish is really quite good. I’d get it even if it weren’t one of the few things I can chew with my adult braces . A couple people got burgers- De Base Dubbel (Smash burger patty, vine ripened tomato, red onion, house pickles, Dijon mustard & hela ketchup on a pretzel bun.) and really liked them. One friend got the 'Bunny Chow' (• South Africa • Curried ground beef, yukon gold, yucca, turnips, parsnips, carrots & onions, yellow curry chicken stock, hollowed out butter grilled French bread loaf.) It looked super interesting and she really enjoyed it. I was the only one who got dessert because I cannot resist a crème brûlée, especially when one is on special- I had a berry one, which was not actually on the menu, but I do see that they offer a lemon one regularly- at least at the time that I visited. Overall the service is great- our server had no shortage of good jokes for us, was very attentive and accommodating, and really helped make our time there special.

We really enjoyed all the food at the Unicorn! We started out with the boney bread. Don't get grey the lemon on top to bring out all the flavors! My husband and son both got the Fish N Frites. I went for the Flemish Mac & Cheese with Carbonnade Flamande. Delicious! The service was great, too!!

I was blown away by the amazing food and service here. My wife and I enjoyed our 11 year anniversary here and they made everything perfect. Food allergies make it difficult to find menus that can accommodate, but the Unicorn Tavern did an outstanding job. They even had a vegan gluten free creme brulee, which is one of my favorite desserts and I don't have any allergies but still loved it all the same. Thanks Unicorn!

Good place. Good food. The guy George, we had as a server was really nice and respectful. Maybe it was just one of those nights in the kitchen, but the mushroom poutine was on the salty side. I’d order it again, just to see if the salt went away, because it looks really good. Our favorite was the hot chicken and waffles! It does get really busy, especially around the weekend nights, it seems to clear after 8pm. Everything else was unicorn.
